THE TALE OF TIFFANY LUST

Gérard Kikoïne, Radley Metzger, 1981
Starring: Dominique Saint Claire, Veronica Hart, Desiree Cousteau, Vanessa del Rio

Though credit is typically only given to French sex film director Gérard Kikoïne (Lady Libertine, Fire Under the Skin, Edge of Sanity, Education of the Baroness), Radley Metzger had a hand in writing and producing this film and it is also believed that he co-directed. A bored, wealthy housewife named Tiffany is tired of being lonely and sexually frustrated. She makes an appointment with a call girl named Betty. They have a brief lesbian affair, where Betty gives Tiffany a few pointers, and then Betty sends her out on a journey. She goes to meet sexy radio host Florence Nightingale. Florence allows people to have sex with her in front of a live audience.

Starring French porn actress Dominique Saint Claire, Veronica Hart (Indecent Exposure, Private Schoolgirls, Boogie Nights), and Desiree Cousteau (Hot Lunch, The Ecstasy Girls), this film is chock full of bit parts from early ‘80s porn stars. Morgane, Vanessa del Rio (who is hilarious as Florence Nightingale), Samantha Fox (no, not the pop singer), George Payne (The Sperminator, Stray Cats, Blonde Ambition), Merle Michaels (Debbie Does Dallas, Jack n’ Jill), and even Ron Jeremy appear, among several others.

Tiffany Lust is an entertaining, early ‘80s sex film, and combines a mix of raunchy sex and more restrained scenes of erotica. Florence is the real highlight of the film and gives her audience pointers about such things as oral sex, which she demonstrates with gusto, as well as anal, where she is partnered with Ron Jeremy. Tiffany herself is more of a frustrated observer, though she witnesses many kinky encounters as she learns to embrace the sexual side of her identity.

Though enjoyable, this is nowhere near the best hardcore films of Radley Metzger. There are plenty of sex scenes, but the film sometime suffers from slow pacing. Metzger’s trademark humor and witty dialogue is fortunately on hand and this is enhanced by some good performances. Overall I would only recommend this to fans of late ‘70s/early ‘80s porn or Metzger completists. As far as I’m aware, this is not available on DVD, though you can find it online.
